She withered as I stirred…..
Emaciated by the unlit days
of solitude…
of pain.

I stroked to revive her
I urged her to smell, to dream
of loveliness…..
of lyrics.

I dwelled in her essence
nurtured by her effervescence.
Now gone…
forever.

And now am left forlorn…
Left with my tears and prayers
of sunshine,
of memories…

  1. i feel there's more unsaid to the poem than there is said... is it the unquenched pain of non-expression that gives this piece its forlorn air? i shall never know, for often is the poem unreachable to the poet, after it is born. and i am only the poet's mortal friend... :)

  8. Very touchy and evocative of one's feeling of isolation in the absence of one's loved one, whom one had seen being absent ,perhaps through a process, however what's the significance of "prayer of sunshine" or should it have been prayer for ....?
